How does the Group Instrumental Program work?

• Tuition occurs in a group setting with Students with similar abilities.
• Lesson are organised directly with the school
• Lessons usually take place during school hours, there is no need to run around town!
• Students will progress through the program and develop their musical talent (ask them play you a song!)
• For Band instruments, attendance to before school band is essential.
• Before School Band is provided to Instrumental Program students at no cost.

Tips on how to get the most out of learning an instrument

• Music practice at home is essential, it ensures the student maintains their enthusiasm and reinforces their learnings during class.
• If your child is having difficulty getting certain notes, ask them to check their instrument with their tutor, sometimes instruments require tuning for foundational students.
• If you are thinking about buying an Instrument, contact us for assistance and guidance. Cheap supermarket or online instruments are often a false economy. We can give you free advice.
• Instruments require care and attention to avoid damage and get the best sound.
  • Don’t leave them in hot cars.
  • Brass instruments require bathing at least twice a year
  • Woodwind instruments require regular airing and drying to avoid mould buildup.

Program Costs and More Information

• A $30 registration fee secures your child’s place the program and covers the costs for a starter pack (see below).
• The cost of the program is $39.80 (inc GST) per fortnight + instrument hire costs (if applicable).
• Program fees start on Term 1, Week 2 and continue throughout the year until the second last week of term 4 – No fees during the summer break.
• Instrument rental costs are additional to program fees and shown below, we will be in contact if you require an instrument rental.

• The preferred method of payment is direct debit in fortnightly instalments however other options are available – you must contact us directly to discuss.

How does the sign up work?

1. Upon checkout, you will be asked to complete a direct debit form.
2. You will be charged a registration fee to secure your child’s position in the program and pay for a starter pack.
3. At the beginning of each year, you will be sent an email detailing the costs of your Childs tuition and any associated instrument hire costs.
4. Direct Debit will start Term 1, Week 2 and continue through to the second last full teaching week of term 4.
5. Payments continue through the autumn, winter and spring breaks; there are no payments over the summer holidays.
6. Payments will be automatically deducted from your nominated account on a fortnightly basis.
7. Enrolment into the following year is assumed and will operate in the same way unless you give us notice to withdraw from the program.

• A starter pack includes initial Textbooks, protection sleeve and student name badge.
• Instrument consumables (such as reeds, cork grease) are included in instrument rental fees.
• As your child progresses to more advance text books, these are included free of charge.
• We aim to keep our costs as low and as affordable as possible. For this reason, make-up lessons for absent students can be arranged if timetabling permits but generally due to school requirements it is not possible.
• 2 weeks written notice (email admin@littlemuzos.com.au) AND the return of all rental instruments is required to withdraw from the program. Your last direct debit payment will be when these conditions are met.
• Students who purchase their own instruments are required to purchase their own consumables, reeds etc. these are available on the Littlemuzos online store.
• Students are expected to take care of their rental instrument including keeping it in a clean and tidy state, some instruments require regular cleaning. More information will be provided with the rental agreement.

• Some instruments require consumables items such as reeds, cork grease and valve oil. These will be supplied with the initial rental but resupply is the responsibility of the student. Consumables can be purchased via our online store or speak with your tutor.

• Other payment options are available but may incur a processing and admin fee.
